waco weekend

last friday,
ross, roux & i hopped in the car
and headed to one of our most favorite places...
baylor university!
we got to see sing, go to a dance party, drink sangria with best friends,
celebrate friends at a couples shower, stop by our favorite thrift store,
enjoy ninfaritas with more friends, drink common grounds coffee,
and even walk the bear trail.

...and the best part
(besides celebrating pi phi winning sing for the first time ever!)
was my little sister calling & saying that
she's going to baylor next year!!

we are so excited for the many, many waco road trips to waco in our future,
and even happier that emily is about to embark on the incomparable adventure
that is life at good ol' BU.

waco restores my soul

last weekend, ross & i were able to sneak out of town
and bask in the glory that is baylor
during the last weekend of sing.
don't worry that my husband bought tickets literally
the minute they went on sale. he's so "over sing." haha whatever...

we felt very blessed that so many of our friends
made time to hang out with us, drink coffee, eat froyo,
cook 'big brek,' give us a place to sleep (thanks roommate!),
and talk about sing for hours and hours and hours.

in fact, after watching sing for 6 hours,
we went back to sarahs house with a bottle of andre
and talked about sing until 4 in the morning,
just like the good ol' days.

waco rules pt. 3

burgers & fries from cupps diner.
greek food & fried chicken from d's mediterranean.
amazing wine and port from the TCV winery.
all with friends made in the great city of waco.

last night, a group of friends and i had drinks
while we watching the storm roll in over the lake,
listening to live music and enjoying one another's company.
i kinda felt like a grown up.

but then we came home and made cookies
& ate the dough- just like when we were in college :)

waco rules {no.1}

waco has a pretty bad rep.
but the truth is, i love this city. it is full of hidden treasures.
it's not huge like houston, or consumer-driven and brand-name obsessed like dallas.
it doesn't have the music scene of austin or the hills of san antonio,
but it is a completely unique city; a diamond in the rough.
miller and i drove around the other day,
and saw a sign which read:
"what about cupcakes?"
to which we responded, "what about cupcakes?!"
we tracked the shop and found a delicious answer.

lavertys is another one of waco awesome places to visit.
it's alot like the city, actually. looks crappy from a distance,
but is full of history, pretty little things, a has a rustic feel
that you don't want to miss.

o, waco...
it's also the city i fell in love in,
so i may be a little biased :)
